This past month, the Welding 2 class organized an in-house competition to select students for the District 10 level contest. From this selection, three high school students and one post-graduate student represented our program at the SkillsUSA Competition held at Northern Virginia Community College in Manassas, VA. During this event, these four students showcased the skills they have developed over the past two years, including Oxy-Fuel cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). Competing against 18 high school students, Jeb Hall excelled by securing 1st place in the high school category, thereby qualifying for the state competition. Additionally, Austin Lam also qualified for the state competition as a post-graduate.
