Luray High School is participating in several initiatives to recycle. The Spanish Honor Society is sponsoring a drive to collect plastic bags of all sorts. Advisories watched a video on what kinds of bags and plastic are acceptable. Items that are acceptable include, but are not limited to: plastic grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, ice bags, and Ziploc storage bags. Plastic must be clean and dry to be placed in the collection boxes. There are large white boxes located throughout the school for collection purposes with signs posted at each.
Interact Club has been collecting classroom recycling bins weekly in an effort to encourage recycling within the individual classrooms. There are also large recycling bins throughout the school.
Mrs. Jenkins' 9th grade Advisory made posters to place throughout the school to promote recycling at LHS.
