Buses will be on site at Stanley Elementary at 11:30am to load students. When buses depart Stanley Elementary we will notify families. Again, we ask that if you are coming to pick up your child, please be prepared with a photo ID and follow the directions of the staff on site. Thank you.
Stanley Elementary School has been cleared by the Stanley Fire Department; however, while thermal images by the Fire Department show no active fire, out of an abundance of caution to determine the cause of a potential electrical situation this morning, we will be dismissing Stanley Elementary School early.
PCPS will provide transportation home for all students who need it and we will share an estimated time of departure from Stanley Elementary School shortly. If parents or guardians opt to pick up their child, please have a photo ID ready and follow all directions of staff while on site.
PCPS will provide a bag lunch ad drink to all students to take home. Please be advised that students will not be able to return to their classrooms to get their belongings before being dismissed.
We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this unexpected situation. Please stand by for more information shortly. Thank you.
Stanley Elementary School is currently experiencing a smoke related issue in the building that we believe may be related to the elctrical system. The Stanley Fire Department and division staff are responding. At this time all students and staff are safe and have evacuated the building. Once we know more, we will provide an update. At this time, no action is needed by parents or guardians. Thank you.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!!
Be sure to thank your teachers this week for all they do for your children.

Twenty-six teachers from all 4 elementary schools participated in the Advancing Computer Science Education (ACSE) grant this school year. These teachers worked diligently to incorporate the 6 Computer Science strands into either their Science or History Curriculum. These lessons were hands-on and engaging for the students and according to the students were always over way too soon. Our county contributed almost 200 new lessons to GoOpenVA, the state's online lesson plan repository. Our ITRTs, Tracy Shifflett, Kristin Vaughn, and Nichole Brumfield enjoyed facilitating this grant so much that they have applied for the grant again with the focus being the Middle and High Schools for next year. All 200+ lesson plans can be found on GoOpenVA.org in the ACSE Page Group.
On Monday, April 29, 2024, students from Luray and Page County High School who participated in the Dual Enrollment Ceremony at Laurel Ridge Community College (Luray-Page County Center)were recognized for their academic achievements. Students were either awarded a 1 year Uniform Certificate of General Studies or an Associates Degree. This is an enormous accomplishment and we congratulate them on their academic success.
