She started as a special ed aide when my now sophomore was in 2nd or 3rd grade at Luray Elementary. When the program moved to Springfield, so did they. She's been there through the ups and very hard downs, she's held me when I cried, she's shared my joy in his milestones. I can't wait for her to be there sobbing with me when we watch my son get his diploma in 2024. I'm crying typing this out! She's such an amazing soul. I'm so glad to have her as my middle son began as a preschooler (and I'm heartbroken she won't be at preK for my youngest!!!). Tell Me Something Good-- Ms. Coleen Manzano --2nd grade Teacher--Shenandoah Elementary School "Mrs. Manzano goes above and beyond for all her students. She had one of my older kids for 1st grade and he was having a lot of difficulty and she communicated with me and together we worked to figure out how to best help him. It took all school year and multiple different ideas, but she never gave up on him. Then she had another of my kids for 1st grade and now again in 2nd grade and while he can be difficult she has the patience of a Saint and again, she communicates with me and we work together to figure out the best way to help him. I know she's like that with all her students. They are all treated as if they were her own. I can never thank her enough for how she's been with my kids in the 3 years they've had her. Next up today, we have Ms. Emily Deamond --Music PCHS Ms. Deamond also has received multiple shout-outs for being so awesome. 1) "I am speaking on behalf of all Ms. Deamond's students. Ms. Deamond is amazing. She makes an effort to make all her students feel welcome and accepted. She works extremely hard as well. She is the director of the Marching Panthers and puts on a musical every year, if possible. Her efforts do not go unnoticed, as she has made a home away from home for her students out of the band room.
