Dear PCPS Families,
PCPS is beginning the work to develop the academic calendar for the next two school years (2025-2026 and 2026-2027). We would appreciate feedback from our parents and guardians in order to prepare and present a draft to the School Board to review and approval.
Please take a moment to provide us with your feedback through this short, anonymous survey using this LINK. The survey will remain open through Sunday November 10, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
We thank you for your assistance and continued support.

Good morning Luray Elementary and Luray Middle Faculty, Staff, Parents and Guardians,
Earlier this morning the LifeSpot app was inadvertently activated. LifeSpot is our emergency response system that can be activated at any time by a staff member in the event of a crisis situation.
When LifeSpot is activated, there is an immediate response from law enforcement. There was a very quick response this morning from law enforcement to Luray Elementary School - law enforcement arrived on campus immediately prepared to respond as needed. Upon arrival, they were notified that the LifeSpot alert had been inadvertently triggered, and they left campus.
Why are we sharing this information with you? We want to make sure everyone is aware that while law enforcement was present at LES this morning, there was no active threat or crisis situation. We are including LMS given that law enforcement also responded to their campus and they moved into a very short lockdown period in response to the LifeSpot activation.
We are deeply grateful to our law enforcement partners for their continued support and incredible response efforts to various situations. PCPS has extended our apologies for the unnecessary activation of the LifeSpot system this morning.
Thank you!

Friday night, Senior Athletes of LHS gathered at one end of the football field, while Kindergarten students from Springfield and Luray Elementary School gathered at the other end. The seniors met the kindergarten students mid field where they were presented a gift to carry on the "Bulldog Spirit. This is the first time this event has been held, and it was a great success. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19NhHbYkpRoVuSJdE2pHfAOcRViWwCLfr?usp=drive_link

Elementary aged English learners throughout the division just finished a unit on Salvador Dali. They read about his life and art, looked at images of his art and did an art and writing assignment on what they’ve learned. This is just one of the projects students have completed in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
