Stanley Elementary students are taking part in a variety of field trips this spring to bring what they are learning into the classroom to life! In April, Fourth Grade went to the Frontier Culture Museum to better understand how the early settlers and Indigenous Americans lived. Kindergarten visited the Children's Museum and A Dream Come True Playground to support Scientific Reasoning while conducting experiments using water. Fifth Graders explored the JMU planetarium and then A Dream Come True Playground. This trip reinforced all they have been learning about space.
Coming up in May, Third Grade will spend time at the Ropes Course at Luray Caverns and study the simple machines found there. First and Second grade will make the trip to the National Zoo in Washington, DC to explore animals and their habitats. All of these wonderful and exciting trips are great opportunities to help students incorporate what they have learned this year with real life experiences.
